Log #0008 – Tracking the Pulse

A new project is spinning up — built to surface what’s rising in open source.

some tools are built to solve your own problems.
this one’s built to see the internet move.

introducing: FluxRank.io

a real-time leaderboard for open source.

it fuses multiple data streams into one score — designed to reflect momentum, not just popularity.

  • github stars + forks

  • npm downloads

  • reddit chatter

  • more signals coming

the idea is simple: what’s rising now?

milestone hit

the github collector is live locally.
stars and forks are flowing into postgres via supabase edge functions.

npm and reddit data sources are next.

tech stack

built in next.js 15
supabase edge functions
realtime event processing
postgres + row-level activity logs
zero server bloat

why build this?

because it’s hard to track OSS movement in real time.
because sometimes it’s not about finding what’s big — it’s about catching what’s about to be.

the email signup page for FluxRank.io goes live soon.
no launch date. no leaderboard yet.
just a signal forming.
