Log #0004 – SHPRD Is Coming

i’ve been teasing it for a bit. now it’s time to share what i’m building.

SHPRD is a safety app for skiers and snowboarders.

simple idea. sharp execution.

what it does:

– puts a red emergency button in your pocket at any ski resort on the planet
– always knows the right number to call — even if it’s not 911
– at participating resorts, it sends your location directly to ski patrol when you press the button
– lets you create a temporary link and share real-time location with your group all day
– works anywhere with cell or GPS — no special equipment required

it’s the kind of tool you hope you never have to use.
but when you need it, it should just work.

fast. simple. reliable.

this isn’t a new idea. but most of what exists today is heavy, expensive, or proprietary.
SHPRD is light. modern. and built to run on what’s already in your pocket.

not trying to reinvent rescue — just giving it a better interface.

built in react native. powered by supabase.
location-based logic, dynamic geofencing, real-time sync.
webhook-ready and built with battery efficiency in mind.
no server bloat. no tracking when it’s off.
everything you’d want in a tool you might someday rely on.

we’ll keep building out SHPRD in public, one dispatch at a time.
the mission hasn’t changed — we’re just giving it a faster deployment path.
