Log #0003 – Who’s Typing?

From ski patrol to software: a shift in strategy, not mission.

i don’t talk much about the person behind the keyboard.

but here’s a glimpse:

i’ve spent over a decade in mountain ops — a ski patroller working in some of the most extreme environments in north america.
bachelor’s in computer engineering. long days in snow and ice. nights spent hacking quietly in the background.

for the last 5 years, i’ve been trying to build something big.
a life-saving system for the ski industry.
tech + hardware + heavy regulation + government involvement.
everyone who sees it agrees: it’s a killer idea. game-changing. the kind of thing that would reshape mountain ops.

but i’ve learned the hard way — being right isn’t always enough.
sometimes, systems move slower than vision.

the project’s not dead. but it’s paused.
it needs time, patience, and a level of political endurance i haven’t built yet.

so i’m shifting.

not the mission, just the playbook.

there’s a new project spinning up now.
same heartbeat, different tempo.
leaner. digital-first. more accessible. still built for the people who do hard things in hard places.

you’ll hear more about it soon. for now, just know: this isn’t about giving up the mission.
this is about building a new path toward it.
